Turn off the light: Wear something bright!
Well the juniors and lower seniors seemed to have a great science day this week ,they made space suits, developed an intergalactic language, did space maths, investigated meteorite collisions, met the aliens in drama and journeyed into deep space or understood how space communications work or why the sunset is pink , made a telescope, orbited the sun or made space stations……….WOW
This week Thursday 25th Science trip for Juniors up to Ionians to the National Space Centre in Leicester (8.30am-6pm, packed lunch , pens/pencils and uniform)
Friday is our commitment to EARTH HOUR 2010 (WWF website) when we consider our impact on the planet by ALL turning our lights off and non essential energy use for 1 hour to remind us of global energy concerns. It can be fun, empowering or plain romantic plan your hour. I had 6 friends and a candle lit fondue last year , Doctor Sturdy had a magical hour playing a game with her son by candle light……….this year my husband plan to just sit and talk by candle light…..(I might even get him to play his old guitar)………millions will be joining us………………
At school we will be asking the children/students to try and think of an energy reduction scheme they could do and instead of paper they will chalk it on the playground ,JSC…watch this space and in accordance with WWF we are all going to :
Turn off the light , WEAR SOMETHING BRIGHT
so Friday will be a non uniform Bright clothes day……….(no cost)
This is for ALL students AND STAFF!!!!!!!!
Thankyou,
