Fees

FEES

A registration fee of £75 is paid on acceptance of a place and parents are then liable for the first term’s fees.  All fees must be paid on or before the first day of term.

A term’s notice of intention to remove a child from the school is required.  If no such notice is given, parents become liable for a full term’s fees.

The scale of fees for the academic year 2008/2009 is presented below.  These fees are inclusive of books and stationery.  Additional charges will be made for field trips and examination fees.

STATEMENT OF ETHOS AND AIMS

Cambridge International School aims to provide a broad interesting and challenging educational environment with a strong international emphasis. Our ethos is to combine the best of the traditional with the best of the new technology to inspire, challenge and enthuse.

ADMISSIONS, DISCIPLINE & EXCLUSIONS POLICY

Our policy is to be academically non-selective. We strongly encourage good behaviour and have a system of rewards and sanctions in place. The ultimate sanction is exclusion. Details of our policy can be found on-line and will be given as hard copy on request.

STATEMENTED PUPILS & PUPILS FOR WHOM ENGLISH IS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE

Our school welcomes pupils of all abilities, proclivities and languages. We will cater for all disabilities that we are able to and have a detailed programme of intensive tuition for those beginning to speak English. We also encourage the continued use of mother tongues.

WELFARE, HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

(a) BULLYING The school has a zero-tolerance policy on bullying. Our written policy is prepared in accordance with the DfES guidance “Bullying: don’t suffer in silence”.

(b) CHILD PROTECTION The school has a set of policies and practices to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our children. This policy is prepared in accordance with DfES guidance “Protecting Children from Abuse”.

(c) SCHOOL VISITS The school undertakes to safeguard and promote the health and safety of pupils on activities outside the school. This policy is prepared in accordance with DfES guidance “Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits”.

(d) PROMOTION OF GOOD BEHAVIOUR The school uses a system of rewards and sanctions to promote good behaviour.

CURRICULUM POLICY

We use the International Primary Curriculum for most subject areas and selected parts of the National Curriculum for Literacy and Numeracy.  Upper School students study Cambridge Checkpoint and the IGCSE.

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

IGCSE’s have been taken this academic year.  We achieved a 100% pass rate with results raning between A* and B. We will update this section annually.
