All Junior Classes

Cookery. All the children will continue with Cookery during the Summer Term.

Gardening – We are encouraging all the Juniors to get their hands dirty this term. Using as many containers as possible, sunflowers are being grown for birdseed. Potatoes, radishes and carrots are being grown for use in Cookery classes. Window boxes are about to be displayed around the school and we are having a class competition to grow the largest pumpkin.
General Reminders

Punctuality - Please ensure your child arrives at school by 8.50am so that lessons can begin promptly.

Homework – There is a Homework Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Junior children. Your child is welcome to attend this supervised club. Please ensure that your child completes homework and keeps to the deadline given. Check your child’s homework book regularly. Some homework will need to be emailed to me directly.

Reading – It is important that your child is reading on a regular basis at home. The Juniors will be issued with a recommended reading list before half term. Please try to hear them read for a short time each day and discuss their books with them. If your child has a reading record book, please write comments on their progress daily. Make sure that they are bringing their reading book to and from school each day.

Equipment – Please ensure your child has the correct equipment with them at school each day. This includes: pencils, sharpeners, rulers, erasers, writing pens, colouring pencils, scissors and especially glue sticks. Arabian class will need a calculator this term.

Water Bottles – During the Summer Term it is even more important that the children have a water bottle on their tables during lessons. Please send a labelled bottle into school.

Mid-Morning Snack – Please ensure that your child brings some fruit or another healthy snack for break times.

P.E. Kits – The children may wear their P.E. kit to school on the days when they have Sport. However, it is important that they bring their school uniform to change into for the remainder of the school day.

End of Day – Please complete the attached form and let us know about the end of day arrangements for your child. We need to have an accurate end of day register for dismissal times.
